The India Tigers made their debut at the 2008 International Cup in Melbourne.A team representing the Indian and the Melbourne Indian community also participated in the 2010 Harmony Cup in Melbourne.In 2011 India Tigers visited Melbourne from India to participate in the AFL International Cup 2011.

To celebrate India’s win against Timor-Leste a celebratory dinner on the 25th Of August 2011 was hosted by the Managing Committee Members of the Australia India Society of Victoria at Indya Bistro Restaurant.At this gala dinner representation from Mr. Rakesh Kawra, Vice Consul, Consulate General of India, Melbourne, Mr Alex Singh, Mr Abhishek Vivian Prasad & Mr Jasvinder Siddhu – Australian India Society of Victoria, Dr. Mahesh Joshi –RMIT University, Mr Harmit Singh – Collingwood Football Club’s Multicultural Program Officer and Miss Sameera Singh along with the entire India Tigers team was noted.

Mr Rakesh Kawra spoke on behalf of the Government of India followed by Mr Alex Singh’s speech on behalf of the Australian Indian Community of Victoria and the vote of thanks was delivered by Mr Ash Nugent, Manager of India Tigers. The MC for the ceremony was Mr Abhishek Vivian Prasad.
